Turkey & Guacamole Burgers
If you’re looking for a delicious yet healthier option for burger night, our halal turkey burgers with guacamole are the ideal choice. Turkey is naturally lower in saturated fat than beef, making it a fantastic alternative for those seeking to reduce their fat intake without compromising on flavour. Lowering saturated fat in your diet is linked to better heart health and reduced risk of chronic diseases, so switching to turkey is a step toward a balanced, healthier lifestyle. Plus, its mild taste allows it to pair perfectly with bold toppings like guacamole.
The Origins of Guacamole
Guacamole, a staple of Mexican cuisine, traces its roots back to the Aztecs, who prized avocados for their creamy texture and nutritional value. Traditional guacamole includes avocado, lime juice, onion, and coriander, but it’s endlessly customisable. If you prefer it with more heat, add diced chilli or a splash of hot sauce. For those with a sensitive palate, you can dial down the spice and add a pinch of cumin or extra lime juice for a milder, tangy taste.
Why Ciabatta Completes the Burger
Ciabatta bread, with its slightly crisp crust and soft, airy interior, is the perfect burger bun. It’s sturdy enough to hold all the juicy ingredients without falling apart, while its neutral flavour lets the turkey and guacamole shine. The combination of tender turkey, creamy guacamole, and the crunch of ciabatta is a match made in culinary heaven.
Serving Suggestions
Serve these burgers with a side of sweet potato fries or a crisp green salad for a complete meal. For a fun twist, add grilled vegetables or a dollop of spicy salsa on top. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a healthier spin on barbecue classics, these turkey burgers are sure to impress.

- 1 x small sprig of chopped coriander

- 1 x ripe avocado
- 1 x chili, chopped
- 1 x lime, juiced
- 1 x ciabatta roll
Method
- Cook the turkey burger[s] according to the cooking instructions.
- To prepare the guacamole, mash the avocado in a bowl and mix in the coriander, onion, chilli, and lime juice. Season to taste for a fresh and zesty topping.
- Preheat a griddle pan or barbecue until it’s searing hot. Place the rolls cut-side down on the heat and toast for about a minute until golden. Set aside and keep warm. Lightly brush the turkey burgers with oil to prevent sticking, then cook on the griddle for 7–8 minutes per side, or until charred and cooked through. Assemble the rolls with the turkey burgers, a generous dollop of guacamole, and some peppadews for a sweet and spicy kick.
