Gluten Free Gooey Edam Cheese Starter
Edam cheese, with its roots in the Netherlands, has been a beloved delicacy for centuries. Traditionally made from cow’s milk, Edam is known for its smooth, subtle flavour and firm, semi-hard texture, making it a versatile cheese for a variety of dishes. Historically, it was prized for its long shelf life, as its signature red wax coating preserved the cheese during long sea voyages. Over time, Edam has evolved from being a simple staple to a culinary favourite, finding its way into modern recipes like our gluten-free breaded version.
Gluten Free Breaded Edam
Our Gluten Free Breaded Edam combines the cheese’s creamy, mild taste with a crunchy, golden coating, creating a perfect balance of textures. When deep-fried, the cheese develops a gooey centre, making it an indulgent treat for vegetarians and cheese enthusiasts alike. Served with a refreshing apricot garnish, a side of crisp salad, and slices of gluten-free ciabatta, it’s a starter that’s both satisfying and sophisticated.
This dish is not only quick and convenient to prepare but also a crowd-pleaser at parties. Its light flavour pairs well with fruity accompaniments, making it an excellent choice for a festive gathering or a casual get-together. Whether you’re hosting or simply indulging, breaded Edam is a versatile, delicious addition to any menu.
