Full English Breakfast with Halal Turkey Rashers
The Full English Breakfast, often simply referred to as a “fry-up,” is a beloved British tradition that has been enjoyed for centuries. This hearty meal typically consists of eggs, meat, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, and toast. Often served with a steaming cup of tea or coffee, and sometimes accompanied by fresh orange juice, the English breakfast is a weekend staple for many and a popular offering across the hospitality industry.
Historically, the English breakfast dates back to the early 13th century when it was primarily enjoyed by the gentry. The tradition was meant to reflect the wealth and hospitality of the host, often consisting of locally sourced meats and produce. Over time, the breakfast evolved into the more familiar plate we know today, becoming a symbol of British culture and a comfort meal for many.
One of the key components of a traditional English breakfast is bacon, typically made from pork. However, with the growing diversity and dietary preferences in the UK, there has been a significant demand for Halal alternatives. Halal turkey rashers have emerged as an excellent substitute for traditional pork bacon, offering a similar flavour profile with a lower fat content, making it a healthier option without compromising on taste.
Our Halal turkey rashers are made from premium cuts of turkey meat, cured and smoked to deliver that familiar smoky and savoury taste. It’s a versatile ingredient that fits seamlessly into the traditional English breakfast, providing a delicious alternative for those who do not consume pork for religious or dietary reasons.
An English breakfast with Halal turkey rashers maintains the integrity of the classic dish while catering to a wider audience. The crispy, savoury slices of turkey rashers pair beautifully with eggs, and other breakfast staples, creating a balanced and satisfying meal. For many, the inclusion of turkey rashers means they can enjoy the full English breakfast experience without compromise.
In comparison to breakfasts from other countries, such as the lighter croissants and coffee in France or the simple toast and fruit in the United States, the English breakfast is notably more substantial and filling. It’s the perfect meal to start a busy day or to enjoy as a leisurely weekend treat.
Whether served in a cosy bed and breakfast, a bustling café, or at home, the full English breakfast continues to be a cherished tradition in British culture. By incorporating our Halal turkey rashers, this classic dish can be enjoyed by everyone, reflecting the inclusivity and diversity of modern British dining. Whether paired with a cup of strong tea, a frothy coffee, or a glass of juice, a Halal English breakfast is sure to delight and satisfy, offering a delicious start to any day.

Method
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and place a baking tray inside to warm up.
- Cook the Halal sausages: Heat a small amount of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the Halal sausages and cook, turning occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through. Once done, place the sausages on the preheated baking tray in the oven to keep warm.
- Fry the Halal turkey bacon: Using the same frying pan, add the Halal turkey bacon slices. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are crispy and golden. Transfer the turkey bacon to the baking tray in the oven to keep warm.
