7 Sides To Accompany Chicken Kyivs

Since Ukraine has been thrust into the limelight with the Russian invasion, the support of the country has been evident throughout Europe and as a consequence, the popularity of chicken kyivs has sky-rocketed.

Whilst some us wouldn’t object to a plateful of deliciously buttery chicken, we’ve collated this list of side dishes that go well with chicken kyivs.

Pea & potato crush

Serve this creamy and fresh mashed potato as a classic side.

Rocket Pear Salad

Savoury and sweet, this Rocket Pear Salad is a simple and healthy recipe. Perfect as a side dish or light meal with rocket, pear, honey glazed walnuts, parmesan and a balsamic vinaigrette. So delicious and easy, this is sure to become a favourite, even without the chicken kyiv!

Buttered & Minted Peas

These minted peas are the perfect combination of fresh ingredients with just a hint of sweetness.

Lemon Wild Rice

This Italian Lemon Basil Wild Rice is bursting with lemon flavor and fresh basil and several Italian dried herbs. It is the perfect side dish or companion to an entrée or main dish. It is also oil-free and gluten-free and requires just 5 main ingredients!

Hasselback Potatoes

Hasselback potatoes are one of the nicest potato dishes around. They take just a little time to make, but the end result will have your dinner guests cooing with pleasure.

Dauphinoise Potatoes

Dauphinoise potatoes are a wonderful combination of creamy potatoes with a touch of garlic and thyme. Rich, meltingly tender and so good.

Celeriac Mash

Celeriac is interesting. It adds a whole new dimension to mashed potatoes. It has a slightly bitter anise note that seems to go so well with chicken. It’s also a little sweet. To encourage this sweetness, we like to give ours a little glaze of olive oil and then bake it in the oven till the outer edges look ever so slightly charred. From there, it is just a case of chopping it into small cubes and incorporating it as a sort of hybrid puree.
